The Form of Uncertainty
Craft and Culture from Central Asia
— A Central Asian perspective on presence, transformation, and spatial intimacy

"The Form of Uncertainty" explores how traditional craftsmanship in Central Asia evolves through rhythm, intuition, and transformation. Embracing the natural geometry of Uzbek artisanry and the fluid, multifunctional logic of Kazakh nomadic design, the exhibition reflects a region where movement, exchange, and shifting identities have long shaped creative expression.

The Territory of Fluidity
— Rediscovering presence and continuity in a boundless dialogue

In Territory of Fluidity, we propose a way of living where boundaries dissolve and functions shift. This is not only a response to Kazakh nomadic culture, but also a rethinking of modern living — life should not be rigidly defined, but formed through movement and eased by change.

Drawing from the nomadic philosophy of “one object, many meanings,” we place multifunctional furniture, natural materials, and daily human needs into an ongoing dialogue. Objects serve not only a function, but also carry emotion and memory — chapters that are continually rearranged and rewritten within the narrative of life.

Salsola Design embraces a lifestyle of openness and ease, leaving space for every transformation — unbound by fixed forms, it allows people and objects, through continual collaboration and reinvention, to share a boundless and gentle realm of living.

The Geometry of Seasons
— Exploring the quiet tension between order and intuition in oasis craftsmanship

Uzbek traditional craftsmanship is deeply rooted in the rhythms of a settled civilisation, moving in step with the natural seasons and resonating with geometric forms. From textile patterns to ceramics and architectural ornamentation, these crafts flow between rule and freedom, expressing a spiritual sensibility beyond surface rationality.

The Geometry of Seasons focuses not only on the beauty of form, but also on those moments of inspiration within geometric order — much like the subtle changes in the turning of the oasis seasons, where repetition and gentle variation reflect the artisan’s delicate understanding of nature, life, and spiritual harmony.

Within a rational geometric framework, Salsola Design introduces the emotive variations of the oasis.
